More 80s Music Memes

More 80s Music Memes

I've had a Talking Heads kind of week. Yesterday, I heard the Talking Heads the other day on the radio. They were singing Burning Down The House. Arsons anyone?

Talking Heads Burning Down The House Meme

Then this funny meme came up on some feed. I remember the Talking Heads album cover, and I remember the Office episode when Dwight puts on the fake skin face...mashed both together. Funny!
Dwight and the Talking Heads. Funny!
Then I moved onto Depeche Mode. Can you ever get enough Depeche Mode? In my opinion, no.

Depeche Mode - Can you get enought?

How about the Police?
Truthfully, I can never get enough Toto. The rains down in Africa is sometimes on repeat on my playlist.
Toto, me, and this Elephant miss the rains down in Africa
I can get enough Rick Astley. I know I can skip his song because he is never gonna give me up.
Rick Astley is Never Gonna Give You Up
Speaking of Rick, I hit on a classic I haven't heard in awhile. One of my old favourites, Jessie's girl by Rick Springfield.
Jessie's girl funny

Yes, my playlist is full of the same music. Same as it ever was, if I'm allowed to quote the Talking Heads.

Favourite Bands Face Masks

Face Masks with your favourite band on them

80s music on my mask

I know the new norm is to wear a mask...

The new Norm - masks

If I have to wear a mask I want it to have a bit of personality, showing my favourite bands seems like a great idea. I found a bunch of really cool masks while cruising Amazon the other day. Check these out.

80s Heavy Metal / Hair Band Masks!

AC/DC

MOTLEY CRUE

That Motley Crue love to wear their masks. Tommy Lee still has a bit to learn. The disease is not transmitted that way Tommy!

Have Nikki Stixx on your face! I know most of you already have, but for the few who didn't hit a Crue concert in the 80s here is your chance.

Twisted Sister

I don't like those boring paper masks, I'm not gonna take it, I want a cool one. I want one with Twisted Sister on it!

Dee Snider is actually a vocal supporter of masks

Billy Idol

Wearing a mask could have been the end of Billy Idol's career. We would have never seen the IDOL SNEER.

Billy Idol wearing a mask, where's the duck lip sneer?

Quiet Riot

This Quiet Riot Mental Health mask would also double as a Halloween costume.

80s Music Meme Masks

Rick Astley is not only a meme star, but now he is available in mask form. Imagine the comments you would get wearing this? This mask will never let you down when it comes to controlling the spread of the 'rona virus.

Rick Astley Mask never gonna let you spread the 'rona

Just to prove you are still alive, 'still standing', then an Elton John mask is for you.

FUNNY 1980s MUSIC MEMES

80S MUSIC MEMES

Billy Idol was such a rebel in the 80s, hence the Rebel Yell, that he sang about Dancing With Myself. Poor guy, dancing all alone. Well guess what? Turns out he found a girl to dance with and now he doesn't dance with himself anymore. Hooray!

Billy Idol finds girl and does not dance with himself

Fast forward thirty years and another big music star does some dancing with himself and makes some waves. Drake. Canadian rapper Drake does some weird solo dancing in the bling bling cellphone video which everyone seems to make fun of? You know what would be even funnier, if the song was from the 80s and he wanted someone to call him on their cell phone - the big brick cell phone! So big you wouldn't be able to make many smooth dance moves!

Call me on your cell phone 80s style
Speaking of calling someone, Daniel Larusso says you'd better call Kenny Loggins because you are in the danger zone. The crane kick danger zone!

Call Kenny Loggins because you are in the danger zone
Mobile phones turn out to be bad for your social health, just ask Madonna who uses her phone to take selfies. I can see why she sang Like A Virgin...

Madonna - like a virgin
It is convenient to have a great camera with you at all times. Beats the 80s when you'd have to carry around a Kodak or Nikon, snaps some pictures, get the negatives processed, and pick up one copy of the picture. So if you are out walking around and see something like a sign for Electric Avenue ...

Rock down to Electric Ave. and then take it higher

It is good to get out, away from technology, take a walk. Maybe as Cyndi Lauper suggested go Walking on Sunshine. You'll feel great!

Shrute sets Cyndi Lauper straight - you cannot walk on sunshine
Nowadays, technology is just too complex for me. I used to be a pretty good hacker. I'd set up my Teddy Ruxpin to play Rick Astley and feel good b/c Teddy was never gonna give you up, never gonna let you down, never gonna turn around and desert you...

Rick Astley tape in the Teddy Ruxpin - Never gonna...
And, I knew fashion. When I wanted to dance around to my favourite 80s songs I'd just put on the old spandex and, as Olivia Newton John suggested, I'd get Physical!

Olvia Newton John Physical and the 80s fashion

Ah the perfect decade, the 80s. And as my Mom says, there is one perfect man and he's from the 80s, his name

80s MUSIC JEOPARDY QUESTIONS

FUNNY 80s MUSIC QUESTIONS FEATURED ON JEOPARDY

There have been a few times that questions on that great game show Jeopardy have been related to 80s music - now, that is a category I could beat Ken Jennings at! And, the umph that Alex Trebeck puts into those questions just shows us how much he loves his 80s music too!

I wouldn't be surprised if Greg Kihn's song Jeopardy was not about love, but, about that quiz show!

Alex Trebeck and Greg Kihn Band both share JEOPARDY
I love this clue about Rick Astley - he's never gonna give you up... a multi answer response! Sounds like Alex was the judge on that question!

Rick Astley is never gonna give you up, let you down on Jeopardy
The absolute best episode was when the Final Jeopardy question was: Ancient History: 1987!

It was a music question. A 'name-that-band' type of question. We were given the following lyrics,

GIRLS, GIRLS, GIRLS
Pretty obvious to any hair metal fans out there - including Alex, who is a big fan of 80s rock!

The first contestant answers something close to Twisted Sister...

Ugh, what is Twister Sister Alex?
Alex Trebeck is not impressed. In fact he started to lose his cool a bit.

Alex Trebeck corrects them - it's TWISTED SISTER
The next guy takes a wild stab and says WHAM! "What? They are an 80s band", he says.

Who is WHAM? George Michael and the other guy.
Apparently, WHAM is not to Alex's liking.

Alex Trebeck doesn't like WHAM
The last contestant is closer, but, still off by enough that any self respecting Motley Crue fan would get offended. Alex is one of those fans.

Girls, Girls, Girls by Monty Crew
Before Alex loses his 'stuff' completely on these numbskulls he does the professional thing and says good-bye to the viewers.

Alex loves his Motley Crue
Man, I would have rocked that show. Finally, a Jeopardy episode where I wouldn't be in the negative.

MORE RICK ASTLEY MEMES

FUNNY RICK ASTLEY MEMES

As Rick Astley sings, 'You know the rules and so do I'.

Rick Astley knows the rules
I believe he was referring to his Never Gonna rules. You know? Never Gonna 1) Give you up 2) Let you down...I made a quick Never Gonna cycle which you can refer to in case you ever need to know the correct sequence of Never Gonna rules.

Rick Astley Never Gonna Cycle

As with all rules, they are made to be broken.

Even Gordan Ramsey respects the Never Gonna rules

Or celebrated with a cake.

Never Gonna Dessert you
Definitely studied and tested.

Inspirations for artwork.

Then used by corporations as advertising slogans.

When you've become that big, the only way to come back is by being mocked by social media.

Or made into a cake. What's with the cakes?
