80'S MUSIC MEMES - SPINNING LIKE A RECORD

1980'S MUSIC MEMES FEATURING QUEEN

The decade of the 80s, and the music, is still heart and soul to some people. We still listen to Van Halen, Queen, Flock of Seagulls, Johnny Hates Jazz...and we are proud of it. It defines a part of who we were, who we are, who we want to be. But, just don't take it too far - you'll just look strange, like this Pac-man guy.

I love the 80s too, but, it did happen like 30 years ago, sorry according to Pac-man guy it happened approx 12,755 days ago. That guy is too extreme in my view, but, if reliving the 1980s make him happy, go for it dude!

I prefer the modern way of loving the 80s, by poking fun at the music (and maybe the big hair).

Lately there has been a lot of hype over Queen because of the documentary/movie Bohemian Rhapsody. I'm a big fan of that song, mostly because of Wayne's World. But, I did think Freddie Mercury very classy for calling his mother when he killed someone, instead of just sending a text. That's old school. Old school class!

I'm wondering about the lyrics. Did he make that up?
Artists, especially in the 80s, were strange and hard to understand. Phil and Genesis got it bang on with their song Land Of Confusion. B/c when I listened to 80s music I was given a one-way ticket to this Land of Confusion, with Phil Collins as my guide (which didn't really help much).

One example of a song I just couldn't wrap my brain around was Flock Of Seagulls, I Ran. Why in the heck would a bunch of seagulls run? They are birds. Birds fly! I'm guessing it is a metaphor for something, but again, in this Land of Confusion and I was lost.

Howard Jones was a beacon on light in my musical journey. They claimed Things Can Only Get Better. And it was true, with age and experience things did better. Music didn't get better, but, other things did, like computers.

Quick change of topic, why did JOHNNY HATE JAZZ?

I'm Johnny and I hate Jazz
Luckily, there was always hard rock to fall back on. Late 70s and 80s rock, rocked! Cranking the Van Halen records to 11, making myself deaf with Def Leppard, turning up the power with AC/DC, that's 80s music to me.

Blow your eardrums out with Def Leppard Pour some sugar on me!
Love is like a bomb
I swear, the last half of that decade I had Def Leppard on the brain.

When I could finally drive I played a lot of AC/DC in the car. Picturing myself on the highway to hell.

AC/DC funny highway to hell
Music from the 'me' decade still makes its mark on the music industry today. Some 'artists' don't even make their own music, they just remix/sample 80s music and 'rap' over top of it. I'm not joking!

80s music stolen by rap artists!
That's fine. For all of us true 80s music fans, we know that 80's music is like wine and gets better with age. Cheers, to the next 12,755 days of enjoying Duran Duran and other fine artists of similar vintage!

Don't get too drunk or lose your braincells with age. Quick test, is there anything wrong with the following image. Anyone from the 80s should know this.
