HELLO, LIONEL or ADELE?!

HELLO...IS IT ME YOUR LOOKING FOR?

Me, as in Lionel?
OR
Me, as in Adele?

Lionel or Adele!

The other day I was driving in the car and the radio started playing Adele's 'Hello'... ♪ Hello ♪
and, of course I finished the line, ♪ is it me your looking for ♪
I'm sure you do the same right?

There are lots of the 'Hello' jokes out there. Not only to do with Adele, but, just Hello jokes in general.

THE PHIL COLLINS SHOW

THE PHIL COLLINS SHOW

Ah, Phil. You know, the drummer from Genesis that went out on his own and dominated the music scene in the 1980s. He had all kinds of hits - some uptempo numbers and some smooth slower ones. His music videos were awesome b/c they were more than music...they were like a short film with Phil as the lead. Talented Phil could do anything it seemed!

Talent abounds in Phil Collins
His casual, No Jacket Required (now how cool is that? Not wearing jacket! Well, depends on the weather I guess?) went #1 all over the world. And, with hits like Sussudio, One More Night, Take Me Home, and Don't Lose My Number, I can see why.

Don't Lose His Number!

Ah, lovable, calm, cool, collected, Phil...well, unless you lose his number!

This is what happens when you lose Phil Collins number!
And, you don't really want to lose contact with Phil b/c he has one awesome swimming pool.

Phil Collins hanging at the pool

He made a mark, a giant dent, in the 80s that still carries through to modern day.
He is often the butt of jokes - implying that his music is girly and outdated. Well, we all know that is wrong, which I guess is what makes the jokes funny.

Just more proof that Phil rocks is the fact that his music still plays in grocery stores and such...where we all hum along, or sometimes sing quietly if nobody else is in the aisle.

 ♪ Hmmm, su-su-sudio...da,da,dada,da,da ♪

Phil Collins can dance. That was him being sarcastic.

80s MUSIC MEMES

80S MUSIC MEMES - I LAUGH AND LAUGH AT THESE THINGS!

Memes are those generic pictures with phrases written in just the right way (being truthful, borderline mean, edgy...but, always BANG ON!) and they make me laugh out loud!

Here are some good 80s themed Memes I have run across lately...

Rock a bye baby is not the standard anymore

JBJ is always a good topic for a meme!
Ouch, 80s music takes a jab at 'modern' music - it's totally true though!

Safety Dance explained by the bearded older guy is too funny

Not a classic Meme, but, one of my personal favourites - Van Halen at 11!

Monday's and AC/DC combine to make a great 'snark' card!

See, JBJ again!

Sad, but, true! 80s rules the radio!

Def Leppard is another great topic of a meme!

I always say, 'DEF LEPPARD'! Always!

Oh boy, even Disco gets in on the meme action!

Ouch, that hurts...not me, I love Springsteen, but, only his 80s stuff.

Hope you had a good laugh - and stay true to the 80s my friend, it is on its way back!

I light up the night with power ballads too.

GUNS AND ROSES - THE FUN TIMES

GNR otherwise known as Guns & Roses - a beloved band that found fame in the 80s with some awesome hits like Paradise city...

Let's hit the road Axel, Axyl, Axl...

...and Sweet Child O' Mine...

Their guitarist SLASH, at his peak, was the world's best guitar shredding master...but, his hair sometimes got in the way.

SLASH!

In the land of rock, metal, hair bands, all those things, GNR ruled!

WHAT WAS THE PROJECT ALAN PARSONS WAS WORKING ON?

What was the project Alan Parsons was working on?

Alan Parson picture
Judging by this popular picture of Alan Parsons, and unidentified man, it appears the project was to start a commune of some sort and then drink the special potion that would allow them to unite in the clouds...with the eye in the sky!?

Some thought it was a laser that would have the power to blow up the moon.

The Alan Parsons Project
This rumour was reinforced in the late 90s by the infamous Dr. Evil.

Some thought the Alan Parson's project was a collection of the most aggressive moves in chess!

Those people were dorks.

Alan Parson the world champion badminton player had no idea what the project was all about.

I'm from the 50s dude!
Some computer people thought the Alan Parsons Project was an acronym, APP, which stood for app...those computer programs you have on your phone. You know? "There's an app for that"
So, in other words The Alan Parsons Project was a project in world domination.

APP stands for ALAN PARSONS PROJECT...or does it?!

However, the majority of common sense minded people believe that the project turned out to be something called 'progressive soft rock' - with velvety soft tones but still a rockin' beat and some wicked guitar solos thrown in there too.

THE FLOCK OF SEAGULLS HAIRSTYLE

Did you know that lead the Flock of Seagulls singer Michael Score owned a hair salon before his band hit the big time?

♪ I ran ♪

Ya, it was called Oz the Magic Hairdresser.
So, you'd think with this background his crazy hair-do, which has it's own label 'the flock', would have been a design that he had created years in advance just waiting for a stage to showcase it?

Mike Score and his infamous Flock Of Seagulls Hair
Well, no, it was more of an accident. Turns out the band was getting ready to go onstage one day, they were all fluffing their hair up (it was the early 80s remember) and one band member pushed Mike out of the way of the small backstage mirror. The small push flattened Mike Score's hair right in the middle of his head. Before anyone could 'fix' this mistake the band manager shooed them onstage.
Well, the crowd ate up the strange hair-do and Score knew he had something. From that point on he did 'the flock'.

And remember these words of wisdom:

Flock of Seagulls Hair - haha
